AGBPC Babysitting (Part-Time)
Asphalt Green Battery Park City will offer programs, camps, and classes for adults and children. The new 52,000 square foot facility will feature a fitness center, gymnasium, two swimming pools, cultural arts classrooms, a dance studio, culinary studio, and theater (visit www.asphaltgreenbpc.org for more information). We will also offer babysitting services to our members providing quality care while parents take a class, work out or swim.

We are looking for energetic, warm and caring individuals who can work either weekdays (9:00 - 3:00) and/ or weekends (9:00 - 2:00) watching over a maximum of 24 children between the ages of 6 months to 6 years. We provide the toys and an appropriate setting, you provide the oversight, engagement and fun.

Qualified candidates will be 21 years of age or older with very strong communication skills, energy, commitment and maturity. Must be CPR/AED certified.

$12.00 per hour and utilization of many of our resources.

Bronx House Day Camp Counselor

Bronx House Summer Day Camp Counselors will be responsible for every day camper supervision. S/he reports to the Camp Director and Unit Leaders. This position runs 7 ½ weeks from June 28, 2012 –August 17, 2012, with 6 schedule training days during June.
 Qualifications
  • Experience and/or ability to work with school aged children in a camp environment.
  • Understanding of conflict resolution, dedication and mentoring concepts.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong group management skills.
  •  Must be a team player.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure that age-appropriate activities are implemented for youth, grades K-6 .
  • Build positive relationships with youth.
  • Encourage youth to actively participate in all available activities; promote respect and team work.
  • Prepare campers for Bronx House culminating activities and events/ performances.
  • Provide a safe, structured environment for student learning.
  • Attend all required trainings.
  • Maintain appropriate use of equipment, reporting necessary maintenance and updates regularly to Director.
  • Accompany and supervise students on field trips
  • Interact with parents and keep open lines of communication to better understand and manage children.
  • Report to Unit Leaders.
  • Participating in total camp program including, overnights, all-camp events, opening and closing day.
