Wildlife Conservation Society Looking for Waitstaff


The Wildlife Conservation Society at the Bronx Zoo is looking to hire Waitstaff/Bartender positions!

Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide excellent food and beverage service for catered events during daytime, evening and weekend hours.
• Assist with set-up of tables, linens, chairs, etc, for full service of banquet events.
• Must be comfortable interacting with guests.
• Maintain back of the house, front of the house and side work duties for overall productivity of events.
• Ability to carry large and heavy trays on a continuous basis throughout a shift.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Bartender must be able to make and serve cocktails for events requiring bar service.

Qualifications:
• Catering or server experience required.
• Strong organizational skills and able to follow directions.
• Able to work well with others in a team environment.
• Professional written, oral and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to multitask.
• Drivers license a preferred.
• Flexible schedule a must and should be able to work some days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Bartenders must have proper training and certification and be over the age of 21.
• May be required to work at other WCS facilities as necessary, including Central Park Zoo, Queens Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo and New York Aquarium.

Part Time Job Openings: Babysitters


A local family on the Upper West Side of Manhattan is looking for a part-time babysitter. They live near Fordham's Lincoln Center Campus, so this part time position would be great for a Fordham student with experience working with kids! 
 
Lori Bloomberg: “We are a fun and loving family on the Upper West Side. We have 3 young boys ages: 4, almost 6, and almost 9. Two of the boys are at the same school and the younger one goes to school right near Fordham. There are always lots of action and activities going on, and the boys are generally happy and energetic. During the school year, the boys are very busy and I will need help with the after-school routine once the new school year begins.”

**This job starts end of August/early September! 
Hours: 3:00 – 6:30pm (some days later), Monday-Friday

Responsibilities include:
-picking up child(ren) from local schools (school pick up may change depending on day)
-providing snack and helping with homework
-being creative and coming up with fun and stimulating activities
-taking child(ren) to activities/playdates
-bathing children and helping children with dinner

Requirements:
-must have experience with children of all ages
-must have an easy commute to my job (Fordham student is great)!
-must be extremely reliable and on time, and be outgoing and takes the initiative
-must be able to set boundaries and implement routines
-must be OK with having mom around on occasion (mom prepares dinner)
-must be somewhat flexible with hours (we will need occasional evenings)
-must have either school or a morning job already in place
-must be able to commit to the full school year 
-must want to be included as part of our family


Salary: $15/hour

A family from Larchmont, in Westchester, is looking for a part-time babysitter for the school year.

“We are a loving Larchmont family who is looking for a sitter to take care of our 2 girls (ages 8 and 11) during the upcoming school year, after school, approx 2:30-6:30, M-F. Responsibilities will include driving girls to after school activities, overseeing homework, occasional light cooking/cleaning for girls if needed. Must be responsible, reliable, caring and energetic. We have a small, sweet dog who will also need looking after as well.”

**Applicant must have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, MUST have their own car and be a non-smoker. Previous babysitting experience a plus.

Start date: Last week of August (flexible to start later if necessary).
